✨ Special Tribute: A Happy Birthday Display in honor of Brandon Keys.
In June 2025, construction crews working at Legacy Park in Decatur, Georgia—formerly the site of the historic Methodist Children’s Home—uncovered a burial vault. What followed was a chilling discovery: 33 unmarked graves, including 22 children, 8 infants, 1 adult, and 2 cremations. These lives were buried without names, without ceremony, and without justice.
For over a century, the Methodist Children’s Home operated as a refuge for vulnerable youth—from 1873 to 2017. But hidden beneath its legacy lies a history of neglect, silence, and unanswered questions.
At Say Their Names Monuments, we believe that every life deserves to be remembered. Founded by Ashley McKenzie after the police killing of her son, Jaylin McKenzie, our work began as a fight for justice—and grew into a movement of remembrance for all those lost to systemic violence, state neglect, and forgotten history.
